OSHAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - 07/05/10) - Strong customer demand continues to drive retail sales for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac higher, with a combined increase of 81.7 percent in June, contributing to sales growth of more than 32 percent calendar year-to-date.
"With seven consecutive months of growth for our four core brands, we are happy to see our products winning in the marketplace," said Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's vice-president of sales, service and marketing. "Additionally, we are pleased with our sales mix, which aligns directly with our strategy of reduced overall incentive spend and lower fleet volumes."
New vehicles launching this summer, including the Buick Regal sport sedan, Cadillac CTS Coupe, Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra heavy duty pickups, and the fuel-sipping Chevrolet Cruze compact car, each set new benchmarks in their segments and aim to continue the strong momentum seen this year.
With employee pricing available on most 2010 model year offerings and some 2011 models, now is a great time to visit a Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac showroom to check out GM's leading range of award-winning, high-quality, fuel-efficient vehicles.
"We are pleased to see sustained sales growth throughout 2010, which clearly demonstrates that our vehicles and strengthened customer focus are connecting with Canadian car buyers," said Kevin Williams, president and managing director at GM of Canada. "We are tracking nicely to our business plan and pushing to realize upside potential that exists in the second half of this year as we increase production of our hottest-selling models and introduce several new vehicles."
